Transfers in Sport was created to help sports organisations build better teams by combining the perspective of internal Talent Acquisition with the reach, flexibility and market focus of a specialist search partner.

Why we exist

Sport is full of ambitious organisations competing for exceptional people. Yet many hiring challenges don’t have obvious answers.

Our perspective

We don’t take a vacancy and search for CVs.

We’ve worked inside leading sports organisations, so we understand the internal reality of hiring: ambitious stakeholders, evolving briefs, limited bandwidth, hard-to-reach talent, competing priorities and the responsibility of representing the organisation well in the market.

That internal experience is central to how we partner with clients. We don’t simply take a vacancy and search for CVs. We start with what the organisation is trying to achieve and work backwards from there.

Tom Martin

Founder · Talent Acquisition

Over the past decade, Tom has built his career in Talent Acquisition, working inside and partnering with leading organisations across leagues, governing bodies, clubs and sports technology.

His experience includes The Football Association, City Football Group, the National Basketball Association, Catapult and TransferRoom, supporting specialist hiring across technology, digital, commercial and creative functions and international talent markets.

Tom is equally comfortable rolling up his sleeves to deliver a difficult search as he is partnering with senior leaders on hiring strategy, workforce planning and long-term recruitment capability.

He is particularly drawn to ambitious, fast-moving environments where people and hiring are integral to growth and transformation.

Manuela Finelli

Talent Partner

Manuela works across the full search process, identifying and engaging exceptional talent across sport and relevant international markets.

With a strong focus on candidate engagement and market mapping, she builds relationships with people who may not be reached through traditional recruitment channels and helps create thoughtful, diverse and informed shortlists.

Fluent in English, Italian and Spanish, Manuela brings a multilingual and international perspective to search, supporting conversations with talent across different markets and cultures.

Candidate experience is central to how she works, with an emphasis on honest communication, transparency and understanding what genuinely motivates someone to make their next move.
